Rice tour in the Albufera of València

The world of rice with boat ride and valencian paella

Rice has accompanied and has fed Valencian people since the arrival of the Arabs in these lands. In this tour we propose you to discover the relationship between it crop, people who work growing it and the environment.

We will make a nice boat ride around the lagoon, enjoying the landscape and the Albufera lagoon’s flora and fauna.  If you have chosen the technical tour you will visit the rice facilities, which belongs to a family with great tradition in farming the best rice’s varieties. There we will know the “tancats”, where the rice is grown, the grain’s warehouse and the necessary equipment to work with the cereal where the harvest is done.

If you have chosen the traditional tour, In addition to the boat ride, a guided visit to the village of El Palmar is included, the outside part of an authentic and traditional barrack and the rice fields which surround the village.

Finally, we will enjoy a good menu made with rice in one of the best restaurants in the village which is specialized in rice dishes in general, but paella in particular.

In addition, if you fancy discover how to make an authentic paella, we can included a workshop where you will learn how to cook the traditional Valencian paella made with firewood.
